The large exhibit presents a seasonally dry forest scene, featuring grasses and small palms. In addition to an artificial embankment, other elements to promote natural behavior include: a small pool for cooling, heated rocks, natural and artificial sunlight for basking, and soil for digging.

An open canopy of deciduous trees, palms, shrubs and grasses at the exterior entry completes the aura of the dragon's habitat.

In the smaller exhibit, a nesting mound of megapodes ( ground-dwelling, chicken-like birds) demonstrates the female dragon's tendency to pilfer the birds' nests to lay their own eggs.

Three-dimensional models offer aspects of the dragon, such as skin texture and animal parts; and audiovisuals further portray the adaptations of the endangered reptile and the conservation efforts underway to protect this species whose fate is now in the hands of humans.
