Backyard Habitat

Join Woodland Park Zoo staff and community experts at an informative Backyard Habitat Workshop on creating wildlife habitat in your backyard, schoolyard or community garden. You will learn how to attract wildlife to your yard while using sustainable gardening practices and maintaining the aesthetics of your garden.

Electric Cart Tours         

These tours are available to guests who have limited mobility.

Need a ride? Electric cart tours are available for small groups of visitors who have trouble walking long distances and cannot take full advantage of Woodland Park Zoo’s beautiful habitats and lush surroundings. Tours provide a relaxing ride along the main path of the zoo. Limited walking is necessary to approach the exhibit areas. Tours last one hour and can accommodate up to 5 people.  Please submit the registration form  to the group programs registrar; three week advance notice is needed to secure your event. Fee: $10 per cart, maximum 2 carts.  Questions? Please contact the Group Registration Specialist.

Volunteering at the Zoo

Volunteers are essential to Woodland Park Zoo. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available at the zoo whether you are interested in assisting zoo visitors, presenting educational programs or working behind the scenes to assist our animal care or horticulture staff.


Steampunk Tropical Expedition 

 Explore the Tropical Rain Forest through brass goggles! This workshop will include hands-on exploration of animal artifacts, a guided tour of the zoo’s award-winning Tropical Rain Forest exhibits, and a special photo opportunity at the end. Victorian-inspired science fiction costumes are encouraged, but the only prerequisite is a sense of curiosity and wonder about the natural world.

Ages: 15 years to Adult
5110: Saturday, January 23, 10 a.m. - noon
Fee: $20 per person (Children ages 5-14 years may accompany adults for $10 per child.)

Senior Zoo Walkers            

Woodland Park Zoo and Group Health Cooperative invite you to join Senior Zoo Walkers, a walking program at the zoo to promote fitness and well-being among adults 55 and older. While taking care of your health, enjoy the discovery of our wildlife residents and learn more about the natural world.

Know all you need to and just want to register for Senior Zoo Walkers? Simply click the register button to open the registration form. Once you have completed the form, mail it, fax it or deliver it yourself to the Education Center inside the South Entrance of the zoo.
