What
will I need at the admissions gate?
- Your
confirmation letter
- The
total number of students with you
- The
total number of adults in your group – including
teachers
- Payment – cash,
check, credit card or Purchase Order
Why
do I need to have two totals, one of students and one
of adults, if they are all the same price?
We need to ensure that you have the correct ratio of students to chaperones
in your group – if you have more than six (6) students for each adult, you will
be charged regular zoo admission.
What
if some of my students have zoo memberships?
Make a copy of the membership card, and note on the copy how many family members
for each membership are in your group. It could be just a child, or a child and adult if a parent
is one of your chaperones. Memberships are good for the immediate
family members only. We cannot accept Microsoft Prime Cards or Entertainment Coupons
for discounted school group admission.
What
about guest passes?
If parents are willing to give
them to you, then you are welcome to use them. Give the guest
pass(es) to the cashier with your payment.
How
do we pay for parking?
Car
parking (anything that fits in a standard parking spot) is
$4.50, bus parking is $10.00. If your parents drive, they
can pay for their parking as soon as they arrive at the zoo,
or you can include parking fees with your admission payment
by telling the cashier the stall number(s).
Will
we be given zoo maps when we arrive?
No.
We don’t stock nearly enough maps for all of the school
groups that attend the zoo. Please make enough copies of
the Zoo Map for Groups for your group.
Can we visit Zoomazium?
Reservation are required for all school groups wanting to visit Zoomazium. Groups without reservations, or with more than three students for each chaperone, will not be admitted to Zoomazium.
What about lunches? Are there lockers?
No, we do not have any lockers or other lunch storage space available. You
are welcome to bring your own lunches into the zoo and eat them in any public
eating areas, but your students or your chaperones will need to carry the lunches.
My
students are older. Do I still need to have one chaperone
for every six students?
Yes.
Chaperones are an important part of field trip learning.
Chaperones must be 21 years old or older, and must remain
with students of all ages throughout the zoo visit. Unchaperoned
students are not allowed on zoo grounds or in the ZooStore.
