These are programs specially designed for preschoolers to attend with an adult. Classes include zoo walks, stories, crafts and more!

Fee: Adults and children 3-4 years.
Ages: $20 each adult/child pair; $10 each additional child.

Penguin Parade
Learn fun facts about penguins through crafts, play and song before marching over to the brand new penguin exhibit!

3229: August 14, 11 a.m. - Noon

Bug Hunt
Search the zoo for wild animals that you could find in your own backyard! We will go on a bug hunt to look for these abundant but elusive creatures and finish with a craft inspired by our discoveries.

3239: July 18, 11:00 a.m. - Noon FULL

Wonderful Water
Every living thing needs water! Learn some amazing aspects of water and visit animals at the zoo who really couldn’t do without it!

Summer Story Time

Let us put an exciting twist on your bedtime routine – we will wear them out before you put them down! Join us in Zoomazium for playtime after closing, wildlife exploration and stories, then we will venture out on grounds to see animals featured in the stories. Pajamas are encouraged! Pre-registration is preferred, but not required. If you choose to drop in, please note that classes without enough advance registration may be canceled.

Fee: $15 for a family of up to four people, $5 each additional family member per night.
Ages: Adults and children 6 years and under

Every Tuesday, 5:45-7:15 p.m., July 7-August 25. Stories, activities and exploration will vary each week so you can join us every week this summer!

Infant and Toddler Classes

Walkin’ and Rollin’
Feel like you haven’t spoken a full sentence in ages? Want to get out and about and learn something? Here is a fun opportunity for you and your little one! We will start the morning with play and music. Then we bundle the little ones into their strollers and set off to explore the zoo. Each week we will venture into a different area of the zoo to learn about the zoo’s awesome animals. We will end each class with the opportunity to socialize with other adults and play time for the kids.

Ages: Adults and children birth to 18 months
Fees: $70 per 6-week session each parent/child pair
9219: Thursdays, June 25 though July 30, 9:15-10:30 a.m. (6 weeks)

Tiny Tyke Time
Tiny Tyke Time is an excellent opportunity for toddlers and parents to learn exciting things. Start with some private time in Zoomazium before it opens. Each week venture to a new area of the zoo to learn about animals and their ecosystems. Each tour session will provide information and activities at levels for adults and children.

Ages: Adults and children 18-36 months
Fees: $90 per 6-week session each parent/child pair
9229: Tuesdays, June 23 through July 28, 9-10:30 a.m. (6 weeks)
9239: Wednesdays, June 24 through July 29, 9-10:30 a.m. (6 weeks) - FULL

NEW! - Young Explorers

Join us for these exciting new programs connecting children with nature. Each class will consist of activities such as nature crafts, exploration, puppet play, stories, and the opportunity to touch a live animal! This class is an outdoor, nature-based program and will go rain or shine, so please dress appropriately. We will not tour zoo exhibit areas, but encourage you to explore the zoo after the program. Everything is geared towards 2-4 year olds. Younger family members are welcome to come along.

Ages: Adults and children 2-4 years
Fees: $25 per adult/child pair, $7 each additional family member 2-4 yrs
