Frequently Asked Questions


What is included with my ticket?

General admission tickets include event admission, 6 tasting tickets, live musical entertainment, and exclusive access to select zoo exhibits.

VIP tickets include a separate entrance, extra tasting tickets, a souvenir tasting glass, goody bag, complimentary buffet, exclusive beer tasting opportunities, and a free ticket to come back to the zoo.

Brew at the Zoo tickets do not include admission to the zoo. If you’d like to visit the zoo during operating hours (9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.), you will need to purchase a regular zoo admission ticket. However, if you bring your Brew at the Zoo ticket to the zoo between October 4 and December 31, you will receive $3.00 off a regular zoo admission ticket.

What if I will not be drinking the beer?  Do I still need to buy a ticket?

Yes, a ticket and an ID are required for everyone attending the event. There are no discounted tickets for those who will not be drinking beer, but tasting tickets are transferable. 


Are tickets available the day of the event?

No, tickets will not be available on the day of the event. Brew at the Zoo will sell out, so make sure to get your ticket early. You may purchase tickets online by clicking the "BUY TICKETS" button on the Brew at the Zoo homepage (available starting April 26). 


Can I purchase a bottle or case of beer at this event? Can I drink it at the event?

No, other than the samples, beer will not be sold at this event. 


Will there be food available at the event?  What kind of food?

Yes, food will be available for purchase from Lancer Catering, and will include grill items, pizza, snacks, sandwiches, etc. Food is cash or credit card only (no checks).

The VIP menu includes Bratwurst, black bean sliders, hot pretzels, potato salad, French fry bar, hot wings, peanuts, brownies and ice cream.


Can I bring my own food?

Because this event is being held inside Lancer Catering’s Food Pavilion and is not a picnic-style event, outside food is prohibited. 

Are the items available for purchase at the event cash only, or will you accept credit cards?

Items for sale at this event other than food (admission tickets, tasting tickets or fundraising activities) may be purchased with cash, check or credit card.  Food may be purchased with cash or credit card only. There is an ATM located inside the event for convenient cash needs.


Where do I park? How much does parking cost?

The best parking for this event is in the zoo lots located along Phinney Avenue N. and N. 59th Street.  The lot accessible on N. 50th & Fremont Ave. N. will also be open, but the West and North lots are recommended (first come, first served).

Pay-for-parking kiosks are located at each lot. Parking is $5.25 for cars, and $15.75 for buses, RVs and other oversize vehicles.

Disabled parking is available in all zoo lots.

Additional parking is located in Lower Woodland Park at N. 50th and Aurora Ave. N., about .1 mile from the zoo's South Entrance. If you must park on streets surrounding the zoo, please be courteous and do not block driveways.


What should I wear?  What happens if it’s raining?

This is a casual event that takes place in both indoor and outdoor spaces. The event will be held rain or shine, so please dress appropriately. 

Can I walk anywhere in the zoo with my beer?

Legally you must stay within the event perimeter (Food Pavilion, Zoomazium, Penguins, Jaguar Cove, walking path, etc.) during event hours. Please be respectful of the barricades and signage that will be in place during the event. Open containers or cups of beer will not be allowed off zoo grounds.

Do I need to bring my own glass, like I did for the zoo’s Tasting Flight wine events?

No.  For Brew at the Zoo, compostable cups for general admission ticket-holders and souvenir tasting glasses for VIP ticket holders will be provided for sampling the beer and ciders.

What animal exhibits will I be able to visit?

You may visit the award-winning Zoomazium, Jaguar Cove and penguin exhibits. There will also be zoo discovery stations and Real Close animal encounters throughout the event. Jaguars have access to the inside part of their exhibit at sunset, so be sure to see them early before they go inside when it gets dark! For safety of our guests, exhibit access to penguins and Jaguar Cove may be closed after dark.


Is this event raising money for the zoo?

Yes! Ticket sales, fundraising games or raffles, and extra tastings all raise money to benefit Woodland Park Zoo. Since this is an after-hours fundraising event, regular zoo membership admission does not apply.
