Big cats, wolves, piranhas, primates and other denizens of Woodland Park Zoo will be getting an early Thanksgiving treat on Saturday, November 21. Raw turkeys will be provided to several carnivorous species who will, no doubt, exhibit interesting behaviors as they tackle this “snack.”

To help tackle hunger in the community, zoo visitors are invited to bring non-perishable food donations to benefit the Phinney Neighborhood Association soup kitchen program, which operates two days per week at St. John United Lutheran Church, directly opposite the zoo’s west entrance. If you’d like to volunteer to help collect donations at the zoo that day, contact Judith@phinneycenter.org
Donations of non-perishable juice, jam, canned fruit, beans, vegetables, chili, ketchup, and powdered creamers are welcome.
